The omission of context is a great weapon that Fox has always used.
Trump's speech was so incoherent that anyone could play a clip and use it to further their agenda.
Tucker Carlson...what to do with Tucker...well, I have no idea what Chris Cuomo or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have to do with any of this's except they are the new targets of Fox and Friends, so sure they have to be brought into the discussion on Fox.
Trump's double standard on this is amazing but totally par for the course.
Two months ago he called for 10 year jail sentences for anyone arrested while rioting outside of a federal building.
Not so much now.
The T.V. in the lobby of the Inn at which I am staying is tuned to Fox.
Here are four observations and commentaries based on today's programs.
First, Trump was repeatedly shown asking for peace and urging his supporters to go home.
No mention was made of the fact that his calls came after the violence had started.
Also, nobody suggested to the President that you can't role a grenade into a crowded room
and not take responsibility for the results.
Second, while condemning the criminals behavior, commentators repeatedly pointed out that
the criminals were a small minority of a large peaceful group.
Fair enough, but these same commentators never differentiated between thugs and legitimate protestors
during their reporting of the Black Live Matter demonstrations.
Third, Tucker Carlson accused Chris Cuomo and Alexandria Ocasio- Cortez of promoting violence with
their comments suggesting that protests are often loud and designed to create discomfort
Tucker you need to revisit Logic 101. Loud and discomfort do not equate to violence.
Per your thinking the protestors on the bridge at Selma were responsible for the violence.
Fourth, and finally, for a little bit of humor on a very sad day.
During their press conference the Mayor and the Police Chief from Washington D.C.
wore masks, lowering them only when they were at the podium.
The only person not wearing a mask was the person signing their remarks.
Go figure
