Obviously there aren't a ton of sports fans here (yet) but this really is awesome.
The WBC is sort of baseball's attempt at a World Cup like event to engage casual (or non) fans of baseball around the world. The MLB teams have been ambivalent about the WBC in the past (basically they fear their investments players getting hurt).
But this year a lot of major players decided to play and it was almost as good as the MLB playoffs or the World Series.
So, congrats to the US teams and everyone who played (Japan, the Netherlands, and Puerto Rico get major props).
If this can do 1/50th of what the World Cup does for Football/Soccer it would be a great thing.
